With its 35 million cu. metres of water covering an area of some 1,100 hectares, its two islands (Ile Verte in the north and Ile du Bois Gérard), its 250 hectares of forests and its 42 km circumference, this is one of the largest lakes in Lorraine.
Located at the heart of the regional country park (Parc naturel régional de Lorraine), Lake Madine between Nonsard-Lamarche and Heudicourt-sous-les-Côtes serves a triple purpose. It is a water supply for the town of Metz, a national hunting and wildlife reserve and a recreational and sports destination.
So why go any further if you’re looking for a place to recharge your batteries with your partner, family or friends at the water’s edge ? Lake Madine, just 45 km from Metz between Verdun and Nancy, is the ideal location to have fun and relax ! From the top of the ridge (Butte de Montsec), there is a great view of the peaceful lake between two valleys, in the heart of the lush Woëvre Plain.
You’ll love the beauty and tranquillity here!
There’s so much to enjoy here:
