Come and enjoy the peace of the Meuse countryside in the depths of the Ornain Valley just 15 mins from Bar-le-Duc.
Flore and Jean Luc Damge welcome guests to a post-war townhouse in Neuville-sur-Ornain. Known as the Gîte de l’Orne, it sleeps 6.
On the ground floor of this holiday let, there is a fully-equipped kitchen and a large, bright living room where you can spend time with family or friends. The living room has a dining area and a lounge with corner sofa, armchairs, TV and DVD player, and a Lorraine-style fireplace with woodburner for snug autumn or winter evenings. There is also a bathroom and separate toilet.
Upstairs, you can write a few postcards in the office, which also contains books, comic books, novels and board games for all ages. When night falls, you have a choice of bedrooms - the green room with its double bed, the blue room with twin beds and the violet room with twin beds. The beds are made up when you arrive. Also on this floor, there is a shower room with toilet.
Outside, you can make use of the brightly-coloured garden furniture, sunshade and barbecue. The children can play in the garden - giant spillikins, a football, a skipping rope and stilts are provided. You can park your car in the yard adjacent to the garden and there is also a shed there for your cycles or motorbikes.
This is the ideal place from which to explore a region full of heritage sites and great food. Try the redcurrant jam deseeded using a goose quill in Bar-le-Duc and the strawberry liqueur ("moelleux de fraise") in Revigny-sur-Ornain.
