Ideally situated close to the battlefield sites of the Argonne (Butte de Vauquois, La Haute Chevauchée, American cemetery in Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, Hill 304 etc.) and only 30 km from Verdun and its battlefield (Douaumont Ossuary, Forts Douaumont and Vaux, the Trench of Bayonets, Memorial Museum etc.), it is to the small village of Nantillois that your hosts, Marteen and Didi, welcome you.
Their farmhouse, built in an architectural style typical of the reconstruction period, has two well-appointed bedrooms with WiFi connection. In the evening, you can eat dinner with your hosts and enjoy regional cuisine made with fresh produce from the vegetable garden.
Are you a World War 1 buff? Didi and Marteen will open the doors to their private collection entitled, "The Men of the Great War, 1914-1918".
You can also go on a guided tour of the area's First World War memorials with Marteen. It's an opportunity to chat and share his passionate interest in the history of the Great War.
