This powerfully-armed fort is intact. It was not shelled. Instead it was used to billet soldiers behind the lines at Verdun. It has been completely restored by an association of Great War enthusiasts and it provides an excellent view of the everyday life of French soldiers (30 resin models). Tour of the interior and exterior: turrets, observation platforms, firing parapet, trenches and a communications trench. The tour ends at a bivouac, a temporary encampment.
Groups can arrange a tour outside the usual opening dates.
